Return Conditions
- Product must be in its original packaging.
- Product must be in new or salable condition.
- For opened food, at least 50% of the product must remain.
Refund Methods
- Cash purchases are refunded in cash.
- Check purchases are refunded with a merchandise return card or cash after a 10-day waiting period.
- Credit card purchases are credited to the original card used.
- Without a receipt or for purchases older than 60 days, a merchandise return card for the most recent sale amount is issued.
- Online purchases paid via PayPal or delivery provider app receive a merchandise return card.
Exceptions & Restrictions
- Live pets have a 14-day return window.
- Opened pet food has a 14-day return window with receipt.
- Prescription medication items cannot be returned in-store.
- Defective items from online orders must be reported to Customer Care within 30 days of delivery.
- Shipping, delivery fees, gift wrap, and other service charges are not refunded.
- Treats Rewards points redeemed for a purchase will be forfeited upon return.
Online / Mail Returns
- Products purchased online can be returned in-store for free with the order confirmation.
- Returns can also be initiated through your online account for mail returns.
- Mail returns require items to be in good, salable, and undamaged condition.
- If the original credit card is unavailable or other payment methods (like PayPal or delivery app) were used, a merchandise return card will be issued.
In-Store Returns
- Bring the product in its original packaging and in new or salable condition to any PetSmart store.
- For online purchases, bring the order confirmation as proof of purchase.
- Returns for both in-store and online orders are accepted at any PetSmart physical location.
Membership & Rewards Benefits
- Treats Rewards membership can be used to look up purchases if no receipt is available.
- Treats Rewards points redeemed for a purchase are forfeited upon return.
Damaged or Defective Items
- If an item from an online order is defective, contact Customer Care within 30 days of delivery.
Exchange Policy
- Exchanges made with a receipt result in any positive balance being refunded in the original form of tender.
- Exchanges without a receipt or with a receipt older than 60 days will result in a merchandise return card for the most recent sale amount.
