Return Conditions
- Items must be returned within 30 days of the purchase date.
- Returns are subject to applicable warranty, limitations, and exclusions.
- For items returned without a receipt, a valid government-issued ID is required.
Refund Methods
- Credit to the original payment card, less any applicable restocking fees.
- In-store credit for returns made without the original receipt, issued at the lowest selling price during the previous 30 days.
Exceptions & Restrictions
- Batteries, alternators, and starters are eligible for exchange if verified defective via Pep Boys' in-store testing within the warranty period.
- Special Order merchandise, uninstalled tires, and/or uninstalled tire chains are accepted for return subject to a 20% restocking fee.
- Returns for purchases paid by check cannot be accepted until the 15th day after the date of purchase.
Online / Mail Returns
- Online purchases can be returned to any Pep Boys store.
In-Store Returns
- In-store and online purchases can be returned to any Pep Boys store.
Damaged or Defective Items
- If there is a defect in workmanship or material during the applicable time period, Pep Boys will repair or replace, at their option, the part or service without charge.
Exchange Policy
- Items can be returned for a refund or replacement within 30 days of purchase with the original receipt.
- Pep Boys offers a 30-day or 1,000-mile 'Ride Happiness Guarantee' on installed tires, allowing for exchange if unsatisfied.
Additional Notes
- For a Core Charge refund, the original part must be brought to any Pep Boys store along with the receipt.
- Cancellations of online orders may incur a 20% restocking fee.
