Return Conditions
- The return process must be initiated within 60 days of the customer receiving the product.
- The item must be in like-new condition.
- The product must be returned in its original packaging with all parts, components, instruction manuals, and documentation.
Refund Methods
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
Exceptions & Restrictions
- Digital goods such as apps, games, add-on content, subscriptions, movies, TV shows, and books are generally not refundable unless specified otherwise by the offer or applicable law.
- Surface Hub, HoloLens, and Windows DevKit are excluded from the standard return policy.
- There is a limit of five product returns per eligible customer purchase.
- Digital gift cards and service/subscription cards may be eligible for return.
Online / Mail Returns
- To initiate a return, go to your Microsoft account Order history page.
- If the item is eligible, you can select 'Request a return' and follow the instructions to get a prepaid shipping label.
- The status of your refund can be tracked on the Order history page.
Damaged or Defective Items
- If you receive a damaged or defective item, you can request a return or exchange through your Microsoft account Order history page.
Price Adjustments
- If Microsoft lowers the price of a physical product within 60 days of purchase, they will refund the difference.
- This is a one-time price adjustment.
Exchange Policy
- You can request an exchange through your Microsoft account Order history page for eligible items.
- When the returned item is received and deemed eligible, a replacement will be shipped.
Additional Notes
- Free returns are available for eligible physical products purchased from the Microsoft Store online.
- Microsoft is not responsible for any games or storage devices left in a returned product.
