Return Conditions
- For returns without a receipt, a driver's license or state ID is required.
- Bargain area/clearance merchandise is non-refundable.
- Merchandise missing the original UPC can only be exchanged for an identical product.
- Returned merchandise purchased with a rebate must have the original rebate receipt, otherwise the rebate value will be deducted.
Refund Methods
- Purchases made with cash will be refunded with cash.
- Purchases made with a debit card will be refunded to the same account.
- Purchases made with a credit card will be credited back to the account.
- If a refund cannot be processed to the original form of payment, a Merchandise Credit Check will be issued.
- Returns made after 90 days of purchase will receive an in-store credit.
Exceptions & Restrictions
- Special order items may be returned at Menards' discretion and are subject to a 25% restocking fee.
- Gas-powered items can be returned within 30 days if unused and in the original packaging.
- Major appliances with a manufacturing defect can be returned or exchanged within 7 days of purchase, or within 90 days if unused and in the original packaging.
- Gift cards are not returnable or refundable.
- Herbicides, pesticides, or aerosols cannot be returned if opened.
- Perennials, trees, and shrubs are guaranteed for 1 year from the date of purchase for exchange or in-store credit.
Online / Mail Returns
- Items purchased online can be returned to a Menards® store, though acceptance is at the individual store's discretion.
- If you receive a damaged item from an online order, you must contact Online Customer Service within 3 days.
In-Store Returns
- For purchases made with a check, an in-store credit is issued if the receipt is less than 6 days old; a cash refund is given if the receipt is more than 6 days old and there are no outstanding checks.
Gift Returns
- Purchases made with a gift card will receive in-store credit for the return.
Damaged or Defective Items
- If you receive a damaged item, contact Online Customer Service Representatives within 3 days of receiving it for assistance with the return and replacement.
Additional Notes
- Returns made after 90 days of the purchase date will be refunded as an in-store credit for the original purchase price.
- If you don't have a receipt, you may be able to print one at a in-store kiosk or from your online account if the purchase was made with a credit card or check.
