How to Get a Refund — Step by Step
- 1For refund requests: go to the TaskRabbit Resolutions Request Form at support.taskrabbit.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and submit a detailed request within 30 days of the task.
- 2For cancellation fee disputes: contact TaskRabbit support within 5 minutes of booking to cancel without a fee, or explain the circumstances (e.g., Tasker no-show) for a fee waiver.
- 3For Happiness Pledge claims: complete the Resolutions Request Form within 30 days, including photos of damage, documentation, and a description of the incident.
- 4Preserve any damaged property and do not dispose of it until the claim is resolved — TaskRabbit may require inspection access.
- 5Provide all requested documentation and photographs within 14 days of submitting the claim.
- 6Allow the Tasker to attempt repairs first when applicable — TaskRabbit may require this before approving compensation.
- 7If approved, sign the Resolutions Agreement, which includes a confidentiality clause and release of further liability.
When You Can Get a Refund
- Unless otherwise expressly stated, all fees (including task payment and all TaskRabbit fees) are non-refundable.
- Tasks must be booked and fully paid for through the TaskRabbit platform to be eligible for any claim or refund.
- Cancellation fees apply if you cancel a task within 24 hours of its scheduled start time — the fee equals one hour of the Tasker's hourly rate plus TaskRabbit fees.
- No cancellation fee is charged if the cancellation occurs within 5 minutes of booking or if the Tasker fails to show up for the task.
- The Happiness Pledge covers property damage, bodily injury, and theft caused by a Tasker's negligence during task performance, up to $10,000.
- Users must not have violated TaskRabbit's Terms of Service and must not have outstanding account balances to be eligible for Happiness Pledge claims.
- Personal insurance must be exhausted first before claiming under the Happiness Pledge.

- Original payment method linked to your TaskRabbit account: refund timing varies by financial institution
- TaskRabbit account credit at the discretion of customer support
- Happiness Pledge compensation (up to $10,000) for eligible property damage, bodily injury, or theft claims
Partial Refunds
- TaskRabbit may offer partial refunds or credits if the task was partially completed or if only part of the work was unsatisfactory.
- Happiness Pledge compensation is limited to the original or replacement value of damaged property, less standard depreciation.
- Cancellation fees are non-refundable once charged, except in cases of Tasker no-show or cancellation within 5 minutes of booking.
- Out-of-pocket expenses approved by the client during the task are generally non-refundable.
- Tips and gratuities directed to the Tasker are non-refundable.

- Submit a claim through the TaskRabbit Resolutions Request Form at support.taskrabbit.com/hc/en-us/requests/new within 30 days of the task.
- Call TaskRabbit customer service at 1-844-340-8275 (available 24/7, average hold time approximately 3 minutes) to discuss your issue.
- Email help@taskrabbit.com with your booking details and a description of the problem.
- Use the live chat feature on the TaskRabbit website (chat icon in the bottom-left corner) for real-time support.
- If TaskRabbit does not resolve your issue, file a dispute with your credit card company or bank for the charge.
Additional Notes
- TaskRabbit's general policy is that all fees are non-refundable — refunds and credits are offered at TaskRabbit's discretion, not as a guaranteed right.
- The Happiness Pledge excludes: water/flood damage, vehicle/aircraft/watercraft operation damage, electronic data loss, intellectual property, cash, animals, fine art, antiques, jewelry, rare or historical items, sentimental value losses, mold, hazardous materials, business interruption, and common area damage.
- Theft claims under the Happiness Pledge require a valid police report.
- Outstanding account balances may prevent you from booking future tasks until resolved.
- TaskRabbit is owned by IKEA — for IKEA assembly tasks booked through TaskRabbit, the same refund and Happiness Pledge policies apply.
- Always communicate with your Tasker through the TaskRabbit platform (not personal phone/text) to ensure your interactions are documented for any potential dispute.
- Germany and Monaco have specific exceptions regarding cancellation fees under local consumer protection laws.
