How to Get a Refund — Step by Step
- 1To cancel or change a reservation, visit the 'My Trips' section on suncountry.com or via the Sun Country mobile app.
- 2Enter your last name and the six-character reservation code to access and manage your booking.
- 3If online changes are not possible or for flights departing within 48 hours, contact Sun Country Reservations at 651-905-2737.
- 4To redeem a flight credit, enter your last name and the reservation code of the original booking as a credit code during the payment step of checkout on SunCountry.com.
When You Can Get a Refund
- The 24-hour cancellation policy for a full refund without penalty applies only if the reservation is made more than 7 days (168 hours) in advance of flight departure.
- Flight vouchers expire one year from the date the original itinerary was booked and must be used for travel within that period.
- Change/cancellation fees are applied per direction, per traveler, unless a Flexible Fare add-on was purchased or the cancellation/change occurs 60+ days prior to departure.
- Flight + Hotel Vacation packages are generally non-refundable but may be canceled or changed with penalties; customers may forfeit the value of the hotel component if canceled within 4 days (domestic) or 13 days (international) of departure.
- The Flexible Fare add-on allows for a one-time modification without incurring change fees, provided changes are made at least one hour in advance of the first scheduled flight. Customers are responsible for any difference in airfare and optional services.
- Seat selections and bag options are priced per segment/bag and are non-refundable.
- Failure to present positive government-issued photo identification can result in denied boarding and no refunds will be granted.
All Refund Methods
- Refunds for cancellations outside the 24-hour policy are typically issued as non-refundable, non-transferable flight vouchers/credits, valid for one year from the original booking date.
- A full refund to the original form of payment is provided for cancellations made within the 24-hour grace period, provided the booking was made at least 7 days before departure.
- Involuntary refunds are made to passengers who experience a significant delay or schedule change and Sun Country is unable to provide acceptable air transportation, or who are refused carriage.
Partial Refunds
- For Flight + Hotel Vacation packages, while non-refundable, cancellation may result in forfeiture of only the hotel component value depending on the timing.
- Cancellations of non-refundable flight fares typically result in a flight credit, not a cash refund.
