How to Get a Refund — Step by Step
- 1Open the Lyft app and select 'You'
- 2Tap 'Ride history'
- 3Select the ride for which you need help
- 4Tap 'Dispute ride charge' at the bottom of the screen
When You Can Get a Refund
- Pending transactions are temporary authorizations to ensure payment method works
- Lyft is unable to provide refunds for rides or reimbursement for lost items
- Express Drive rental deposits are refunded if no outstanding rental costs, damages, or tolls exceed the deposit amount

- Original payment method (for Express Drive deposit)
Partial Refunds
- Not applicable for rides
- Express Drive rental deposit may not be fully refunded if outstanding costs exceed deposit amount
Dispute Process
- Customers can dispute a ride charge instantly through the Lyft app: navigate to 'You' > 'Ride history', select the specific ride, and then choose 'Dispute ride charge'.
Additional Notes
- A Lyft transaction marked as 'pending' is not a charge
- Temporary authorizations will either disappear or appear as a refund
- Lyft is not responsible for personal belongings left in the car
- Lost and found fees may apply for returned items, waived for Lyft Pink members
