How to Get a Refund — Step by Step
- 1Log into Manage My Booking using your booking number (from email confirmation) and the email address/phone number used for purchase.
- 2Complete the easy cancellation process.
- 3Immediately receive your voucher via email.
- 4Treat the resulting voucher code as you would cash.
When You Can Get a Refund
- Tickets can be canceled up to 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
- Refunds are subject to applicable cancellation fees.
- Vouchers are valid for 12 months.
- Vouchers have no cash value, cannot be sold, but can be gifted.
- For bus delays of 120 minutes or more, passengers will be informed of the ability to withdraw and claim a voucher refund or rebook for free; however, no refund is possible if the delayed trip is taken.
All Refund Methods
- Refunds are issued as a voucher for the fare paid, less applicable cancellation fees.
- Vouchers can be used on future trips within Greyhound's international bus/train network.
Partial Refunds
- If the cost of a new ticket during an exchange is lower, the difference will be returned as a voucher.
- For extras like seat reservations or extra baggage, their price will be applied as a credit to the new ticket and refunded as a voucher (when applicable) during an exchange.
Dispute Process
- In cases of bus delays of 120 minutes or more, customers are informed of options to withdraw and receive a voucher or rebook.
- For other questions or issues, customers can contact Greyhound and fill out a request, which agents will review.
Additional Notes
- Drivers and the Customer Service team cannot modify tickets prior to the scheduled departure.
- Delays can be due to circumstances beyond bus operators' control, such as traffic, accidents, construction, detours, and weather.
- Trip delay updates are sent via text message (if a mobile number was provided), push notifications (if subscribed via the app), and email.
