How to Cancel — Step by Step
- 1Call Consumer Cellular Customer Service at (888) 345-5509.
- 2Inform the representative that you wish to cancel your service.
- 3Provide necessary account details for verification.
- 4If applicable and within the eligible return period (30 days for new customers, 45 for AARP/USAA members, 14 for existing customers), discuss returning any devices purchased directly from Consumer Cellular. A mailing label can be sent for free phone returns within the risk-free guarantee period.
- 5Request a cancellation confirmation for your records.
- 6Alternatively, transferring your phone number to a different carrier will automatically close your Consumer Cellular account.
Billed Through a Third Party?
- You are responsible for any third-party charges incurred on your account, which are not covered by the risk-free guarantee.
Additional Notes
- Consumer Cellular offers month-to-month contracts, meaning there is no requirement to maintain service for a specific term length.
- If you cancel your service, you will continue to have access to services until the end of your billing cycle, unless you transfer your number to a different carrier prior to the end of the billing cycle.
- It can be helpful to keep a loved one's line or account active for a short time to save contacts, voicemails, and texts, or to transfer access to social media, banking, or other important accounts/apps.
