Return Conditions
- Merchandise must be unworn.
- Handbags and accessories must have original tags attached.
- Shoes must be returned in their original shoe box for mail returns.
- Apparel items must be returned via mail.
Refund Methods
- Refunded to the original method of payment.
- In-store returns may be refunded as store credit.
- Shipping charges are not refundable.
Exceptions & Restrictions
- Clearance items are final sale and may not be returned or exchanged.
- Masks, mask filters, and earrings may not be returned or exchanged.
- Gift Cards and E-Gift Cards cannot be returned or refunded.
- Merchandise purchased from other retailers must be returned to the store from which it was originally purchased.
- Bodysuits are final sale (CA policy, but common for similar items).
Online / Mail Returns
- Start by visiting the Returns Center to generate a QR code for FedEx Office drop-off (no shipping box or label needed, but shoe box is mandatory).
- Option to print a return label and drop off at any FedEx location.
- A $6.95 per order return fee applies, covering restocking and postage.
- Returns must be shipped back within 7 days since the QR code or label was issued to prevent a delay in refund.
In-Store Returns
- Accepted at Steve Madden stores in the USA, excluding Colorado, Utah, and Savannah, GA locations.
- Bring merchandise in its original packaging along with the order number or email confirmation.
- Online returns are accepted in-store.
Membership & Rewards Benefits
- SM Pass Insider accounts receive Free Standard Shipping.
- SM Pass VIP, SUPERSTAR, and ICON accounts receive Free 2-Day Shipping on orders over $50 plus free in-store returns.
Damaged or Defective Items
- Steve Madden guarantees against manufacturer's defects.
- Normal wear and tear does not qualify as a defect.
Exchange Policy
- Exchanges can be completed at Steve Madden Retail Stores.
- For online exchanges due to fit, visit the Returns Center; the exchange item will be shipped once the original item is dropped off at FedEx.
- For exchanges for a different style or color, place a new order and contact customer service for a return label for the original item; a full refund will be issued upon receipt of the returned merchandise.
