Return Conditions
- Items must be returned within 30 days of the delivery date for online purchases or the purchase date for in-store purchases.
- Returns and exchanges are free when using a prepaid return shipping label for online purchases or when returning items in-store.
- Items purchased at Gap Factory must be returned to a Gap Factory store and cannot be returned to other Gap Inc. brand stores like Gap, Old Navy, or Banana Republic.
Refund Methods
- Refunds are issued to the original form of payment, such as the credit card used for the order.
- For returns of items purchased with a gift card, the refund will be issued to the same gift card or a new one.
- Online returns offer an 'Instant Merchandise Credit' option.
Exceptions & Restrictions
- Final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged.
- Items purchased from a third-party seller must be returned directly to the seller by mail.
- Gap items cannot be returned at Gap Factory, Old Navy, Athleta, Banana Republic, or Banana Republic Factory.
Online / Mail Returns
- Online purchases can be returned by mail using a prepaid shipping label or by dropping them off at a third-party location.
- To return by mail, use the interactive online process to create and print a prepaid shipping label.
- You can also return online orders in a Gap Factory store.
In-Store Returns
- Bring the item to a Gap Factory store.
- You will need to provide the receipt, the rewards phone number, or the credit card used for the purchase.
Membership & Rewards Benefits
- Some Encore Members have extended windows to return for merchandise credit.
- Premier Members who were signed in online or provided their phone number in-store may return merchandise up to 45 days after purchase and will receive a Merchandise Return Card if the return is made after 30 days.
Exchange Policy
- Exchanges can be made within 30 days of the delivery or purchase date.
- For mail-in exchanges, you need to contact customer service to order a replacement item.
Additional Notes
- Returns and exchanges must be made at the brand of purchase; for example, Gap items cannot be returned to a Gap Factory store.
- Free returns are available for both in-store returns and by using a prepaid return shipping label for online orders.
