How to Get a Refund — Step by Step

  1. 1A merchant issues a refund for a return or unsatisfactory product/service.
  2. 2You will receive a notification when the refund process begins, which will include an estimated completion date.
  3. 3You can monitor the status of your refund within the Chime app.
  4. 4A second notification will be sent once the funds have been deposited into your account.
  5. 5The refund will appear as a positive amount in your transaction history.

When You Can Get a Refund

  • The merchant must first issue the refund for a purchase that has already settled.
  • The processing time begins when the merchant initiates the refund, not at the time of the return.
  • Pending transactions cannot be disputed; you must wait for the transaction to post.

Dispute Process

  • If you do not receive your refund within seven business days, it is recommended to first contact the merchant directly.
  • To file a dispute with Chime, navigate to the relevant transaction in the app.
  • Tap on "Problem with this transaction?" and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • You can also initiate a dispute by calling member services.

Chime Walmart dispute

Am I screwed? I recently filed a dispute with chime because I made a Walmart+ delivery order for around 600$ Unfortunately the delivery driver dropped the package off at the wrong house and it was never seen again. I contacted Walmart support where the main support could obviously see it was dropped

Chime dispute denial, despite merchant admitting error during transaction

Sent chime screenshots of all of every chat thread and email, even a screenshot of when Instacart told me l was ineligible for a refund due to the transactions being flagged. How could Chime possibly find in favor of Chime? This is unacceptable and I want my money back, also I requested the document
