How to Get a Refund — Step by Step
- 1Log in to your Eventbrite account.
- 2Navigate to the “Tickets” section and locate the order you want refunded.
- 3Select “Request a refund” and fill in the required details.
- 4Submit the request; the organizer must respond within five business days.
- 5If no refund option appears or the request is denied, use the “Contact the organizer” link or submit an escalated refund request directly to Eventbrite.
When You Can Get a Refund
- The event is cancelled by the organizer.
- The event is postponed and a new date is not announced within 90 days; attendees may request a refund for 45 days after the postponement.
- Organizers must respond to all refund requests within five (5) business days.
- Refunds are required when the advertised experience is not delivered or is significantly different from what was described.
All Refund Methods
- Refund is returned to the ticket buyer’s original payment method (credit/debit card, bank transfer, etc.)
- Organizer can issue an Eventbrite credit by setting an expiration date during the refund process
Partial Refunds
- Organizers can issue partial refunds by selecting specific tickets and adjusting the refund amount.
- Ticketing fees are recalculated based on the refunded amount; fully refunded tickets may have fees returned in certain cases.
Dispute Process
- If an organizer denies a valid refund, attendees can submit an escalated refund request to Eventbrite via the Attendee Refund Request form.
- Attendees may also initiate a chargeback with their bank; Eventbrite handles chargebacks on behalf of organizers and the process can take up to 120 days.
Additional Notes
- Ticketing fees are generally non‑refundable, except for cancellations, postponements, duplicate charges, or COVID‑19 related refunds.
- Eventbrite may issue refunds on behalf of an organizer when the organizer fails to comply, and the organizer is billed for any associated fees.
