How to Cancel — Step by Step
- 1Open the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
- 2Tap your Profile picture or initial in the top-right corner.
- 3Select 'Home Settings', then tap 'Subscriptions'.
- 4Tap 'Google Home Premium' (or 'Nest Aware') to open subscription details.
- 5Tap 'Subscriptions' and then tap 'Cancel'.
- 6Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the cancellation.
- 7Alternatively, go to myaccount.google.com, select 'Payments & subscriptions' then 'Manage subscriptions', find Nest Aware / Google Home Premium, and click 'Cancel'.
- 8If purchased from the Google Store, visit store.google.com, sign in, go to the Subscriptions page, select the subscription, and click 'Cancel subscription' under Payment.
Billed Through a Third Party?
- If you purchased your plan through a partner (e.g., an internet service provider or security company), you must contact that partner directly to cancel — Google cannot cancel partner-billed subscriptions.
- If purchased from the Google Store, cancel through the Google Store website (store.google.com) rather than the Google Home app.
- If billed through Google One as part of a bundle, manage the subscription through the Google One app or one.google.com.
Reactivating Your Account
- You can resubscribe at any time through the Google Home app or Google Store.
- Once you cancel, all unsaved video footage is permanently deleted — cameras will still function for live viewing but will not record event history.
- Your camera settings, device configuration, and Google Home setup are preserved after cancellation.
- Previously saved clips or manually saved footage may remain accessible in your Google account.
Additional Notes
- Nest Aware has been rebranded to Google Home Premium — the Standard plan is $10/month or $100/year (30 days of event video history), and the Advanced plan is $20/month or $200/year (60 days of event history plus 10 days of continuous recording).
- No cancellation fees apply to any Google Home Premium plan.
- After cancellation, cameras lose intelligent alerts (familiar face detection, package detection, vehicle detection) and revert to basic motion notifications only.
- The cancellation method must match where you originally purchased — Google Home app purchases cancel through the app, Google Store purchases through store.google.com.
- If you have multiple Google Nest cameras, the subscription covers all cameras on your account — canceling affects all devices.
- Legacy Nest Aware subscribers (pre-2020 plans) may have different pricing grandfathered in; Google has been migrating legacy plans to Google Home Premium.
