Return Conditions
- New, non-worn item.
- Original sales receipt, gift receipt or packing slip required for full refund.
- Returned within 90 days of purchase for full refund.
- Must be in original condition with all tags attached and in original packaging.
- Unwashed.
Refund Methods
- Original purchase price to the original form of payment.
- Merchandise credit (for returns after 90 days or without a receipt).
- Merchandise exchange (for returns after 90 days or without a receipt).
- Store-only money card (for in-store gift returns).
Exceptions & Restrictions
- After 90 days, items may be returned for current selling price in the form of a merchandise credit or merchandise exchange.
- Refunds for purchases made by credit card may only be credited back to the original card used.
- Online returns by mail using a prepaid return label will have $6 deducted from your refund.
- Underwear cannot be exchanged under any circumstances.
- Clearance items (with more than a 50% discount) cannot be exchanged.
- For in-store gift returns, the refund is issued as a store-only money card.
- For mail gift returns, unless customer service is notified prior to shipment, all returns are credited to the gift giver's original form of payment, less any shipping and handling fees.
- Certain items may not be eligible for return or exchange.
Online / Mail Returns
- Return online orders by mail and print a prepaid return label using the interactive return tool (requires order number, email, and zip code). A $6 shipping cost will be deducted from your return credit if using the prepaid label.
- Online purchases may also be returned to any Company-owned Carter's or OshKosh B'gosh retail or outlet store in the United States.
In-Store Returns
- Any item purchased at a Company-owned Carter's retail or outlet store, along with eligible online purchases, may be returned or exchanged at any Company-owned Carter's retail or outlet store in the U.S.
- Bring your original sales receipt, gift receipt or packing slip, and the credit card used for your original purchase.
- For returns without a receipt, the original purchase transaction can be looked up using your Rewarding Moments information, physical address, or email address.
- If a transaction cannot be located without a receipt, a merchandise exchange at the current selling price will be offered.
Gift Returns
- In-store gift purchases of unworn, unwashed items may be returned for a full refund within 90 days of the purchase date. The refund shall be in the form of a store-only money card.
- For gift returns by mail, unless notified prior to shipment, all returns will be credited to the gift giver's original form of payment, less any shipping and handling fees.
Membership & Rewards Benefits
- For returns of items purchased in-store without a receipt, Carter's and OshKosh B'gosh can look up the original purchase transaction using your Rewarding Moments information.
Damaged or Defective Items
- Any Carter's or OshKosh B'gosh product with a quality defect can be returned to a store for a full refund or exchange.
- Bring the packing slip or printed receipt for defective products.
- You may contact the Consumer Affairs department to make arrangements to return the item by mail.
Price Adjustments
- A one-time price adjustment for items purchased will be honored if you contact them within 14 days of purchase.
- You may also receive a price adjustment in Carter's and OshKosh B'gosh Company-owned stores within 14 days of purchase (in-store or online).
- Please have your receipt available for price adjustments.
- Price adjustments for purchases made by credit/debit card will be credited to the original card.
Exchange Policy
- Exchanges are happily provided for any new, non-worn item returned with an original sales receipt, gift receipt, or packing slip within 90 days of purchase.
- If without a receipt, or if it has been longer than 90 days since purchase, the item will be exchanged for its current selling price.
- Exchanges for the same style(s) in different size/color will honor original discounts.
- Online exchanges are processed as a refund and reorder; for fastest service, contact customer service to place your reorder and they will waive the regular shipping charge.
- Certain items may not be eligible for return or exchange.

- Carter's and OshKosh B'gosh operate with a unified 'Happiness Policy' for returns.
- Carter's and OshKosh B'gosh are fully integrated, allowing cross-brand in-store returns for items purchased at either retailer.
