Return Conditions
- Proof of purchase is required.
- Products must not be damaged by misuse, abuse, improper care, negligence, or accidents.
- Products must not show excessive wear and tear.
Refund Methods
- Refunds are processed to the original method of payment or as a merchandise credit.
Exceptions & Restrictions
- Products lost or damaged due to fire, flood, or natural disaster.
- Products with a missing or defaced label.
- Returns on ammunition.
- Products purchased from third-party sellers.
- Products that have been soiled or contaminated, until they have been properly cleaned.
Online / Mail Returns
- A printable return label can be generated online.
- Returns through UPS or US mail cost $6.50 per package.
- Return shipping is free for purchases made with an L.L.Bean Mastercard or paid entirely with Bean Bucks.
In-Store Returns
- Items can be returned to any L.L.Bean Retail Store or Outlet.
- Bring the item and proof of purchase to the store.
Gift Returns
- Gift returns are accepted within one year of purchase with a gift receipt for a merchandise credit.
- If you don't have a gift receipt, the item may be accepted if it is unused and unworn with original packaging for a merchandise credit at the last known selling price.
Damaged or Defective Items
- After one year, items that are defective due to materials or craftsmanship will be considered for return.
Exchange Policy
- Exchanges can be made in-store, by phone, or by placing a new order online and returning the original item.
- For phone exchanges, the standard shipping fee for the new item is waived.
Additional Notes
- Products purchased before February 9, 2018, are not subject to the one-year time limit.
- To protect all customers, L.L.Bean reserves the right to deny a return in certain situations, including habitual abuse of the return policy.
