Return Conditions
- Most new, unopened items purchased from CVS Pharmacy or CVS.com can be returned for exchange or refund.
- All returns or exchanges are subject to a store manager's approval and a third-party verification process.
- Valid photo ID may be required for any return or exchange, especially for returns lacking proof of purchase.
- Items must be in original condition with all packaging and components, unless covered by a satisfaction guarantee or found to be defective.
- Returns without a receipt may be limited to the lowest advertised price in the 60-day period prior to the return.
Refund Methods
- With the original receipt, refunds are made to the original payment method.
- Purchases paid for with a check or a debit card (when PIN is entered) will be refunded for cash.
- Without a receipt, items may be exchanged for the same item or refunded as store credit (CVS/pharmacy Money Card).
- Refunds for items purchased online using PayPal will be issued as a store credit, or customers can contact Customer Care for a refund to their PayPal account.
- If the original purchase was made with a gift card, store credit will be issued.
Exceptions & Restrictions
- Gift cards, prepaid cards, and phone cards cannot be returned or exchanged, except where required by law.
- Prescription medications cannot be returned to CVS Pharmacy stores due to legal restrictions.
- At-Home COVID-19 test kits cannot be returned or exchanged.
- Some health care items, home health, and personal care products cannot be returned even if unopened, due to health and safety concerns.
- Special-order items such as footwear, motorized scooters, and lift chairs cannot be returned to CVS Pharmacy stores; Customer Care must be contacted for these returns.
- Clearance and discontinued items are final sale unless defective.
- Digital downloads, gaming cards, and lottery tickets are non-refundable.
- Items that require refrigeration cannot be returned once they leave the store.
Online / Mail Returns
- Items purchased from CVS.com can be returned to any CVS Pharmacy store or by mail within 60 days of purchase.
- For mail returns, customers should call Customer Care at 1-888-607-4CVS (4287) before returning items.
- For in-store returns of online purchases, bring the order confirmation email or online invoice.
In-Store Returns
- Most new, unopened items purchased from a CVS Pharmacy store or CVS.com can be returned to any CVS Pharmacy store within 60 days of purchase.
- Bring the item(s) along with the original receipt, packing slip, or ExtraCare card for processing.
- A valid photo ID may be required for returns or exchanges.
Gift Returns
- Returns of gifts without a receipt will typically be issued as a CVS/pharmacy Money Card (store credit).
Membership & Rewards Benefits
- ExtraCare card holders can have their purchase receipts looked up to facilitate returns.
- ExtraBucks Rewards used in a purchase will be reissued with a new expiration date upon return.
Damaged or Defective Items
- If a package arrived damaged or there is a discrepancy in a CVS.com order, Customer Care should be contacted immediately at 1-888-607-4CVS (4287).
- Shipping charges may be credited if merchandise is defective or damaged.
- Defective clearance items can be returned.
- Unopened, damaged, or defective nonprescription item(s) can be returned to a CVS/pharmacy store with a receipt for a full credit.
Price Adjustments
- CVS does not price match competitors or generally offer price adjustments.
- At the store's discretion, some managers may price match CVS.com prices at the time of checkout, but not for purchases made weeks prior.
Exchange Policy
- Most new, unopened items can be exchanged within 60 days of purchase.
- Items returned without a receipt may be exchanged for the same item.

- CVS Brand products and all beauty products are 100% satisfaction guaranteed and can be returned (opened or unopened) for a full refund or store credit with proof of purchase.
- Returns are tracked in CVS's system using a third-party verification process to help prevent losses and detect improper returns.
- CVS reserves the right to limit or refuse any refund or exchange.
- If a receipt is lost, CVS can look up transactions using an ExtraCare card for purchases linked to the account.
