Return Conditions
- Product and receipt must be presented for a full refund.
- For online orders, notify the driver upon delivery or Store Associate upon pickup, or contact customer service within seven days after delivery or pick up.
- For Albertsons Own Brands products, contact within 90 days with a receipt if not completely satisfied.
- Returns without a receipt over $10 require manager approval.
- Items should not have damage caused by improper use, storage, or accidents after delivery, or ordinary wear and tear on durable goods for the satisfaction guarantee to apply.
Refund Methods
- Full refund issued based on the original method of payment when a receipt is presented.
- Cash for cash refunds.
- Cash for check refunds after a 7-day waiting period, or for refunds $20 or less.
- Merchandise credit for approved refunds without a receipt (for the lowest selling price in the past 30 days).
- Credit to the payment method used or credit on account for online orders.
- New gift card if the original purchase was made with a gift card.
- Funds returned directly to EBT Card for EBT purchases.
Exceptions & Restrictions
- Baby formula, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products cannot be returned or refunded once accepted for online orders.
- Receipt is required for all alcohol, cigarette, and tobacco product refunds in-store; customer must be of legal age.
- Alcohol product returns are limited to locations where allowed, must occur in-store, require a receipt confirming purchase from the same store, and the customer must be 21+ years of age.
- WIC purchases cannot be refunded and can only be exchanged for identical (exact brand and size) food items.
- The satisfaction guarantee does not cover damage caused by improper use, storage, or accidents after delivery, or any ordinary wear and tear on durable goods.
- Products purchased from non-Albertsons affiliated retailers or third-party sellers (e.g., Instacart, Amazon.com) must be returned to that seller.
Online / Mail Returns
- Items purchased through the Online Grocery Ordering Service can be returned for a full refund or credit on account if not satisfied.
- Notify the driver upon delivery or the Store Associate upon pickup, or contact customer service within seven days after delivery or pickup.
- Refunds are issued as a credit to the payment method used or as a credit on account that can be applied to your next online order.
- Missing items or unsatisfactory substituted items from online orders can be refunded if reported within 48 hours of delivery or pickup.
In-Store Returns
- A full refund will be issued when the product and receipt are presented.
- Refunds without a receipt over $10 require manager approval and are issued as merchandise credit for the lowest selling price in the past 30 days.
- Alcohol products must be returned in-store where allowed by law, with a receipt confirming purchase from the same store, and by a person 21 years or older.
Gift Returns
- If a product was purchased using a gift card, the refund will be provided via a new gift card.
Membership & Rewards Benefits
- For Own Brands returns handled by Customer Support, a credit may be applied to your For U account.
Damaged or Defective Items
- If not satisfied with any item purchased online, it can be returned for a full refund or credit.

Price Adjustments
- Albertsons for U systems are designed to honor the lowest price for an item at the time of purchase.
- Customers are notified via email of any price increases for Schedule & Save items and have the ability to edit or cancel such orders.
