Return Conditions
- Items must be unworn, unwashed, undamaged, and have all labels and tags attached.
- Hygienic liners must be in place for swimsuits and underwear.
- Merchandise must be returned in the country where purchased.
- Items must be in 'new' condition with tags attached.
Refund Methods
- Full refund to the original form of payment (with proof of purchase).
- Merchandise credit in the form of an AEO Merchandise return card.
- Instant Credit as an AEO e-gift card for Real Rewards members.
Exceptions & Restrictions
- Final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged.
- Worn or damaged products are non-returnable.
- Customized items are non-returnable.
- Opened underwear is non-returnable.
- Gift cards are non-refundable.
- Online purchases are not eligible for returns until the full order has shipped.
- Returns may be denied if there appears to be fraud or abuse.
- Anything after 60 days will be denied altogether.
- Items deemed 'unsellable' (e.g., stains, smell) will be considered damaged and the return denied.
Online / Mail Returns
- Use the online portal to print a shipping label or get a digital label to scan at USPS.
- Online returns typically cost $5.
- Online returns are free for Real Rewards Level 3 Members, Credit Cardmembers, and for Aerie bras, bralettes, swimsuits, and third-party footwear.
- In-store purchases cannot be returned online and must be returned in-store.
In-Store Returns
- Returns or exchanges can be made at any AE, Aerie, Offline, or AE Factory store.
- In-store returns are fast and free.
Gift Returns
- With original proof of purchase or gift receipt, holiday merchandise purchased on or after October 23 may be returned through February 1, 2026, or 30 days from purchase, whichever is later.
- Without proof of purchase, returns may be for merchandise credit at the current selling price.
Membership & Rewards Benefits
- Real Rewards Level 3 Members and Credit Cardmembers receive free online returns.
- All Real Rewards members can opt for Instant Credit as an AEO e-gift card.
Damaged or Defective Items
- Defective items, such as a bra with a wire popped out, can be returned for a full refund.
- Items deemed 'unsellable' due to stains or smell are considered damaged and the return will be denied.
Price Adjustments
- Available within 14 days of the original purchase date.
- Original receipt is required.
- Item must be the exact same style and color currently in stock.
- May be denied if a coupon or rewards certificate was used on the original purchase.
- Can be requested via Live Chat on the website or in-store.
Exchange Policy
- Items can be exchanged for any item of equal or lesser value.
- A different size can be exchanged even without proof of purchase.
Additional Notes
- Aerie and American Eagle share return policies, and items can be returned at any AE, Aerie, Offline, or AE Factory store.
- Some online-exclusive items may only be returned by mail.
