How to Get a Refund — Step by Step
- 1Sign in to your Seamless or Grubhub account.
- 2Select the order for which you need assistance.
- 3Tap 'Help' within the app (often found in the top-right corner of the order details).
- 4Choose to 'Chat With Us' or select an option like 'Cancel order' and follow the prompts to speak with a customer service agent.
- 5Alternatively, contact the Customer Care team by calling 1-877-585-7878.
When You Can Get a Refund
- Payments are generally final and non-refundable, unless otherwise determined by Grubhub.
- Refunds are offered at Grubhub's sole discretion.
- Refunds may be issued in the event of an error with an order or in the amounts charged.
- Grubhub covers the cost of diner refunds when the issue is not the restaurant's fault, such as late delivery, delivery to the wrong address, damaged orders, a delivery partner not following instructions, or failure to arrive.
- Grubhub also covers refunds if the customer made an ordering mistake, such as placing a duplicate order, choosing the wrong fulfillment option (pickup vs. delivery), or entering incorrect contact or address information.
- Eligibility for future compensation may be affected by the frequency of refund requests on an account.
All Refund Methods
- Refunds can be issued as credits.
- Refunds may be processed to the original payment method.
- For purchases made with a stored-value card, an alternative refund method may be used at Grubhub's discretion.
Partial Refunds
- Grubhub may process partial adjustments for diners, for instance, if an item is unavailable or a portion of the order is incorrect.
Additional Notes
- Seamless is operated by Grubhub, and Grubhub's policies apply to Seamless orders.
- Refunds are not guaranteed and are handled on a case-by-case basis.
- Grubhub is not liable for Merchants' food preparation or safety, or for delivery services provided by Merchants or third-party delivery services.
