How to Get a Refund — Step by Step
- 1For eligible refunds (within 24 hours of purchase and at least 7 days prior to departure), cancel the reservation online by visiting 'Manage Trips' to receive a refund to the original form of payment.
- 2To cancel a reservation, customers can also contact the Customer Solutions Center, but a $25 charge per seated traveler will apply.
- 3In the event of a significant flight disruption, customers will be offered options including cancelling the reservation for a refund to the original form of payment or Avelo Cash.
- 4Submit refund requests for credit or debit card purchases, which should be processed within 7 business days.
When You Can Get a Refund
- Reservations canceled within 24 hours of purchase and at least 7 days (168 hours) prior to the scheduled departure will be refunded to the original form of payment.
- Most other customer-initiated cancellations result in Avelo Cash for future travel.
- A $25 charge per seated traveler applies to reservations canceled through Avelo's Customer Solutions Center.
- No changes or cancellations are permitted within 15 minutes of scheduled departure; all associated charges are forfeited.
- Significant flight disruptions (e.g., cancellation or schedule change of more than 3 hours) may offer options for a refund to the original form of payment or Avelo Cash.
All Refund Methods
- Original form of payment (for eligible cancellations within 24 hours of purchase and at least 7 days prior to departure, or in cases of significant flight disruptions).
- Avelo Cash (for most other cancellations, or as an option during flight disruptions).
Partial Refunds
- For reservations purchased with AveloFlex®, if canceled at least 15 minutes prior to departure, Avelo Cash will be issued for the reservation balance paid, less the AveloFlex® fee.
- For reservations booked on or after 3/6/25 without AveloFlex®, cancellation fees (calculated as a percentage of the total reservation value) apply based on the number of days from departure, and the remaining value is typically issued as Avelo Cash.
Dispute Process
- Avelo will acknowledge receipt of written complaints within 30 days and commit to providing a substantive written response within 60 days of receiving the correspondence (30 days if the complaint relates to a disability matter).
Additional Notes
- Avelo Cash is issued to the customer(s) traveling on the itinerary, is non-transferable, and has no cash or refund value.
- Avelo Cash must be used for purchase within its defined validity period, typically one year from the booking date for customer-initiated changes/cancellations, or five years from the date of issuance for significantly delayed or changed flights.
- AveloFlex® is an optional service allowing customers to change or cancel their flight up to 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure without penalty or fee, but canceled reservations with AveloFlex® result in Avelo Cash (less the AveloFlex® fee).
- All sales and travel on Avelo Airlines are subject to their Contract of Carriage.
