How to Cancel — Step by Step
- 1Log in to your Gusto admin account.
- 2Click on your company name in the bottom left corner.
- 3Go to the 'Plan & billing' section.
- 4Under 'Gusto billing', click 'Cancel account'. If you don't see this option, you may not have the required permissions.
- 5Select the reason for cancellation and provide feedback.
- 6Follow the additional prompts, which may include deciding how to handle outstanding tax payments and filings.
- 7Confirm the cancellation by typing your company name and checking the acknowledgment boxes.
Additional Notes
- Admins with the required permissions can cancel their company's Gusto plan at any time.
- Gusto bills retroactively, so you'll receive a final invoice the month after you cancel.
- You cannot cancel your account if a payroll is in progress. You must wait until the last check date has passed.
- If your invoice comes from a third party, you must work with that provider to cancel your account.
