How to Cancel — Step by Step
- 1Sign in to your GoDaddy account on the web.
- 2Go to your 'Renewals & Billing' page.
- 3Locate the product or subscription you wish to cancel or turn off auto-renew for.
- 4Select the checkbox next to the product(s) and then choose 'Cancel Auto-Renewal' or 'Turn off Auto-Renew'.
- 5Follow the on-screen prompts, which may include selecting a reason for cancellation, and confirm your decision.
- 6If you intend to close your entire GoDaddy account, you must first delete all associated products and services.
- 7After deleting all products, wait at least 24 hours.
- 8Go to your GoDaddy 'Contact Preferences' page, navigate to the 'Privacy' section, and select 'Account'.
- 9Read the 'Close Account' message, select the checkbox confirming you understand the action cannot be undone, and then select 'Close Account'.
Billed Through a Third Party?
- If a product was purchased through a mobile app store (e.g., Apple App Store or Google Play), you must cancel the subscription directly through that respective app store. GoDaddy cannot process cancellations for these purchases.
Reactivating Your Account
- Account closures are permanent and irreversible; once your account data is deleted, there is no way to retrieve it.
- Canceled domains can sometimes be recovered with no additional fees within 120 hours.
Additional Notes
- If your subscription includes multiple products (e.g., a bundle), deleting the subscription will remove all products within it; individual products in such bundles cannot be deleted or refunded separately.
- If you are not eligible for a refund, turning off auto-renew allows you to continue using the product until the end of its current subscription term, after which it will be deleted.
- It is crucial to delete all products from your account before attempting to close the entire GoDaddy account.
- For any refund inquiries or requests, you must contact GoDaddy Guides by phone, SMS, or chat, as email refund requests will not be processed. This should be done before closing your account to ensure eligibility.
