Return Conditions
- Ticketed, unworn, unwashed merchandise.
- Defective merchandise.
- Unopened, unused products such as fragrance, candles, etc.
Refund Methods
- Credited to the original form of payment.
- Merchandise credit (if preferred, or if no receipt with valid Government-Issued identification).
- Corporate check (for cash or check original payment, issued within 7-10 business days, unless merchandise credit is preferred).
Exceptions & Restrictions
- Merchandise marked "final sale" may not be returned or exchanged and is not eligible for a price adjustment.
- Original shipping and processing fees are non-refundable.
- Talbots Outlet stores can only accept returns of merchandise purchased from Talbots Outlet stores.
Online / Mail Returns
- Returns by mail should include the Return Form enclosed with your package or your original store receipt.
- A pre-paid return label may be included; an $8.95 shipping and handling fee will be deducted from your refund if used.
- Customers can also ship their return pre-paid and insured using a shipping provider of their choice to Talbots Returns.
- Merchandise purchased online or by phone can be returned to any Talbots store.
- A return portal is available for online purchases, phone orders (with a valid email address) and orders placed through Concierge in store.
In-Store Returns
- Talbots Retail stores can accept returns of merchandise purchased from Talbots Retail stores, online, or phone orders.
- Talbots Outlet stores can only accept returns of merchandise purchased from Talbots Outlet stores.
Gift Returns
- If the original form of payment was a gift card or the merchandise was received as a gift, the method of refund will be a merchandise credit.
Damaged or Defective Items
- Talbots will accept returns and exchanges of defective merchandise.
Price Adjustments
- Talbots will gladly adjust the price of an item if the price decreases within 14 days of original purchase or shipment date.
- Price adjustments will be made based on the current selling price to the original method of payment, unless a merchandise credit is preferred.
- Final Sale purchases are not eligible for price adjustments.
Exchange Policy
- Talbots will accept exchanges of ticketed, unworn, unwashed, or defective merchandise, and unopened, unused products such as fragrance, candles, etc.
- Exchanges must be made within 60 days of purchase with a valid receipt.
- Valid Government-Issued identification is required for exchanges made without a receipt.
Additional Notes
- If you do not have a receipt and/or Talbots is unable to locate a record of your purchase, but the merchandise is still ticketed and returned within 60 days, a merchandise credit may be issued for the current selling price, including all applicable discounts and promotions. Valid Government-Issued identification is required for returns and exchanges made without a receipt.
- Merchandise credits are unable to be used to purchase Talbots and Haven Well Within Gift Cards.
- Returns or exchanges made within 60 days will be credited to the original selling price (minus any credits received).
