How to Cancel — Step by Step
- 1Open a web browser and go to okcupid.com — log in with your email and password.
- 2Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select 'Settings' from the dropdown menu.
- 3Scroll to the subscription section and click 'Turn off automatic billing' or 'Cancel Subscription'.
- 4Confirm your decision when prompted — you will receive a confirmation email.
- 5Your premium features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
- 6If you paid through Apple or Google Play, you must cancel through those platforms separately (see third-party billing below).
Billed Through a Third Party?
- Apple App Store: Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad, tap your Apple ID at the top, select 'Subscriptions', find OkCupid, and tap 'Cancel Subscription'. Apple does not allow OkCupid to cancel App Store subscriptions.
- Google Play Store: Open Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, select 'Payments & subscriptions' then 'Subscriptions', locate OkCupid, and tap 'Cancel Subscription'.
- If you delete your OkCupid account, the subscription is NOT automatically canceled if billed through Apple or Google Play — you must cancel through those platforms to stop charges.
- PayPal: If you subscribed via PayPal, cancel through PayPal's subscription management or through the OkCupid settings page.
Reactivating Your Account
- Your profile, messages, matches, and activity history remain intact after canceling your subscription — you simply revert to the free tier.
- You can re-subscribe at any time through the OkCupid app or website to regain premium features.
- If you fully delete your account (separate from canceling subscription), your profile data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
- Previous subscription history does not affect pricing for new subscriptions — you pay the current rate.
Additional Notes
- OkCupid offers three paid tiers: Basic ($44.99/month or $14.99/month on 6-month plan), Premium ($54.99/month or $22.49/month on 6-month plan), and Premium Plus (hidden profile with all Premium perks).
- Canceling your subscription does NOT delete your profile or account — it only stops future billing and removes premium features at the end of the billing cycle.
- Multi-month subscriptions (3-month, 6-month) are billed as a single upfront payment, not monthly — canceling stops renewal but does not refund the remaining months.
- OkCupid is owned by Match Group, which also operates Tinder, Hinge, and Match.com — their refund policies are similar across brands.
- For subscription support, contact OkCupid at 833-743-2962 or email through the help center at okcupid-app.zendesk.com.
- If you suspect unauthorized charges, report them immediately — OkCupid may issue refunds for verified unauthorized transactions.
- Boosts and other one-time purchases are separate from subscriptions and are nonrefundable regardless of subscription status.
