How to Cancel — Step by Step
- 1Log in to your Cerebral account at getcerebral.com or open the Cerebral app.
- 2Navigate to Account Settings from the main menu.
- 3Select 'Subscription' from the settings options.
- 4Click 'Manage Subscription' and then choose 'Cancel Subscription.'
- 5Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your cancellation — you must complete all steps before the day prior to your next billing date.
- 6You will receive a confirmation email once the cancellation is processed.
- 7If you have trouble canceling online, email support@cerebral.com to request account deactivation.
Billed Through a Third Party?
- If you subscribed via the Apple App Store: open Settings on your iPhone/iPad → tap your name → Subscriptions → find Cerebral → tap Cancel Subscription.
- If you subscribed via Google Play: open the Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → find Cerebral → Cancel subscription.
- Canceling through Apple or Google only stops billing; you should also contact Cerebral directly if you want your account and health data deactivated.
Reactivating Your Account
- You can resubscribe at any time by logging back in and selecting a new plan.
- Your medical records and chat history are retained per healthcare data regulations (HIPAA) even after cancellation.
- If you are taking prescribed medication, arrange a new provider before canceling to avoid gaps in treatment continuity.
Additional Notes
- Cerebral subscription plans without insurance: Medication Management — $180/quarter (~$60/month); Therapy Only — $295/month; Medication + Therapy — $365/month; Couples Therapy — $325/month.
- With in-network insurance (Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Optum, UnitedHealthcare), copays are typically around $30/month.
- Plans are HSA/FSA eligible — you can pay with pre-tax health spending accounts.
- Medication costs are separate from the subscription fee and vary; prescriptions can be picked up at a local pharmacy and may be covered by insurance.
- Cerebral paid $740,000 to New York State and $5.1 million via FTC settlement for previously making cancellation difficult — the process is now significantly improved with click-to-cancel.
- Cancel at least one day before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the following period.
- Customer support: support@cerebral.com or in-app chat during business hours.
