Return Conditions
Dollar General

- Returns with receipt
- Merchandise returned without a receipt will be exchanged for merchandise of equal value or a Gift Card of equal value.
Family Dollar
- Merchandise purchased in stores can be returned to any Family Dollar Store.
- With original receipt, items will be exchanged for other merchandise item(s) or a refund will be issued in the original form of payment.
- Without original receipt, customers may return up to three items within a 30-day period for exchange or refund at the lowest advertised price.
Exceptions & Restrictions
Dollar General
- Perishable food items: must be returned same day
- Opened health and beauty items: may not be accepted
- Gift cards: non-returnable
- Prepaid phone cards: non-returnable
- Clearance items marked final sale: non-returnable
Family Dollar
- Air Mattresses cannot be returned to Family Dollar; they must be returned to Kentex Corporation within 15 days with original box and receipt.
- For Electronics, Heaters, and Fans: Unopened merchandise with original receipt may be exchanged or returned.
- For Electronics, Heaters, and Fans: Opened merchandise with original receipt may only be exchanged for the same item.
- For Electronics, Heaters, and Fans: Merchandise (unopened or opened) without original receipt may not be returned or exchanged.
- Any food items purchased and returned without a receipt can only be exchanged for other food items.
- Any medical items purchased with a Medicare or Medicaid OTC benefits card and returned without a receipt can only be exchanged for other medical items.

Family Dollar
- With original receipt, a refund will be issued in the original form of payment.
- Without original receipt, refunds will be issued as a Family Dollar merchandise return card.
- Food items returned without a receipt are only eligible for exchange for other food items; a return card will not be issued.

- Returns with receipt— Digital or Register Refunds for merchandise in the original packaging are always given within 90 days of purchase.
- For DG Pickup orders, your “DG Pickup Complete” email and the order details under your Order History in the DG App and on DG.com can be used as your receipt.
Family Dollar
- Family Dollar Brands Guarantee: If you are not 100% satisfied with any Family Dollar brand product, simply return it within 30 days with a receipt for an exchange or full refund.
- Where permitted, with original receipt, unopened Alcoholic Beverages may be refunded to the original form of payment.
