Third-Party Billing
Netflix
- Apple/iTunes: cancel through iOS Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Netflix > Cancel Subscription. Netflix cannot cancel on your behalf. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google Play: cancel through Play Store > Subscriptions > Netflix > Cancel
- Roku: cancel through Roku account settings (press * on channel or visit my.roku.com). Netflix cannot process Roku-billed cancellations
- Amazon Fire TV: cancel through Amazon Account > Memberships & Subscriptions > Netflix > Cancel
- Cable/ISP providers: contact your provider directly
- Important: deleting the app or signing out does NOT cancel billing
Disney+
- Apple billing: cancel through iOS Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Disney+ > Cancel Subscription
- Google Play: cancel through Play Store > Profile > Payments & Subscriptions > Subscriptions > Disney+ > Cancel
- Roku: cancel through Roku account settings
- Amazon: cancel through Amazon Memberships & Subscriptions
- Verizon/carrier billing: log into My Verizon app > Services & Apps > Manage > Cancel Disney+ add-on. Refund and cancellation follow Verizon's terms, not Disney's
- Disney Bundle (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+): must cancel as a complete package — individual services cannot be cancelled separately
Reactivation & Data Retention
Netflix
- Sign in with existing credentials at any time to rejoin
- Profiles, viewing history, ratings, My List, and game saves are retained for 24 months after cancellation
- Downloads expire immediately when subscription period ends
- Recommendations and 'Continue Watching' are preserved during the retention window
- Netflix often offers promotional rates to returning members
- After 24 months, data is permanently deleted
Disney+
- Watch history, profiles, preferences, and watchlist retained for approximately 10 months after cancellation
- Downloads become inaccessible after billing period ends
- Resubscribing within the retention window restores all prior data
Additional Notes
Netflix
- Netflix offers a pause option for up to 3 months (1 month at a time, repeatable up to 3 times) — no charges during pause, streaming resumes when unpaused
- Pause is NOT available on Standard with Ads or Basic plans, or accounts billed through third-party partners
- No cancellation fee
- Consider pausing instead of cancelling if taking a temporary break
- After cancelling, change your password and 'Sign out of all devices' to prevent unauthorized restarts
- Monitor bank statements post-cancellation to confirm billing has stopped
- Customer service: 1-866-579-7172 or help.netflix.com (live chat available)
Disney+
- Pause option available in select regions — check Account settings for availability
- Annual plan refund rules: within 14 days = full refund; after 14 days = discretionary partial refund with possible 10% deduction
- Apple/Google-billed annual plans follow those platforms' refund policies, not Disney's — they occasionally grant prorated refunds at their discretion
- Customer service: live chat at help.disneyplus.com or phone support through the help center
