Third-Party Billing
Hulu
- Apple billing: cancel through iOS Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Hulu > Cancel. Cannot cancel Apple-billed subscriptions through Hulu's website
- Google Play: cancel through Google Play Store > Subscriptions > Hulu > Cancel
- Roku: cancel through Roku account settings
- Disney Bundle: you cannot selectively cancel Hulu from the Disney Bundle — cancel the entire bundle at disneyplus.com/account, then individually resubscribe to services you want to keep
- Spotify Bundle: cannot cancel Hulu portion separately — switch to a Spotify plan without Hulu, or deactivate Hulu through Spotify, then resubscribe to Hulu directly
- Hulu is merging into the Disney+ app in 2026 and will no longer be a standalone app
Disney+
- Apple billing: cancel through iOS Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Disney+ > Cancel Subscription
- Google Play: cancel through Play Store > Profile > Payments & Subscriptions > Subscriptions > Disney+ > Cancel
- Roku: cancel through Roku account settings
- Amazon: cancel through Amazon Memberships & Subscriptions
- Verizon/carrier billing: log into My Verizon app > Services & Apps > Manage > Cancel Disney+ add-on. Refund and cancellation follow Verizon's terms, not Disney's
- Disney Bundle (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+): must cancel as a complete package — individual services cannot be cancelled separately
Reactivation & Data Retention
Hulu
- Resubscribing within approximately 8 weeks restores profiles, watchlist, watch history, and preferences
- Longer gaps may result in permanent data loss
- All streaming access and downloaded content are lost immediately at billing period end
Disney+
- Watch history, profiles, preferences, and watchlist retained for approximately 10 months after cancellation
- Downloads become inaccessible after billing period ends
- Resubscribing within the retention window restores all prior data
Additional Notes
Hulu
- Hulu offers a pause option for 1 to 12 weeks — no charges during pause, watch history and preferences stay intact, auto-reactivates at end of pause period
- Hulu + Live TV is a plan tier, not a separate add-on — cancelling cancels the entire package
- Free trial: standard Hulu has a 30-day free trial; Hulu + Live TV has only a 3-day free trial
- Bundle subscribers (Disney Bundle, Disney+/Hulu/Max) are NOT eligible for free trials
- Must cancel free trial before it ends to avoid charges — access continues through remainder of trial even after cancelling
- Pricing: Hulu with ads $9.99/month; Hulu no ads $18.99/month; Hulu + Live TV $82.99-$95.99/month
- Customer service: live chat on Hulu Account page or help.hulu.com
Disney+
- Pause option available in select regions — check Account settings for availability
- Annual plan refund rules: within 14 days = full refund; after 14 days = discretionary partial refund with possible 10% deduction
- Apple/Google-billed annual plans follow those platforms' refund policies, not Disney's — they occasionally grant prorated refunds at their discretion
- Customer service: live chat at help.disneyplus.com or phone support through the help center
