- Open the Duolingo app on your device.
- Tap the Super icon at the top of the home screen.
- Tap the Settings (gear) icon, then select “Manage subscription”.
- Choose “Cancel subscription” and confirm the cancellation.
Babbel
- Open a web browser and go to babbel.com — log in to your account.
- Click on your profile icon and navigate to 'Profile and Settings'.
- Go to the 'Account Information' page.
- Find the subscription section and click the option to cancel your subscription.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm cancellation.
- You will retain access to all courses until your subscription expiration date.
- If you subscribed through Apple or Google Play, you must cancel through those platforms (see third-party billing below).

Third-Party Billing
Duolingo
- If you subscribed via the Apple App Store, cancel the subscription in your iOS device Settings under Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- If you subscribed via Google Play, cancel the subscription in the Google Play Store under Subscriptions.
Babbel
- Apple App Store: Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad, tap your Apple ID, select 'Subscriptions', find Babbel, and tap 'Cancel Subscription'. The 20-day money-back guarantee does NOT apply to Apple App Store purchases.
- Google Play Store: Open the Play Store app, tap your profile, go to 'Account' then 'Subscriptions', find Babbel, click 'Cancel' and follow the instructions. Google Play purchases ARE eligible for the 20-day money-back guarantee.
- Deleting the Babbel app from your device does NOT cancel your subscription — you must actively cancel through the platform where you subscribed.
- Canceling your Babbel account (deleting profile data) does NOT cancel your subscription billing — these are separate actions.
Reactivation & Data Retention
Duolingo
- After cancellation, you can reactivate by purchasing a Super subscription again through the same platform (app or web) at any time.
Babbel
- After cancellation, you retain access to all courses and progress until your subscription expiration date.
- Your learning progress, completed lessons, and review vocabulary are preserved indefinitely in your account.
- You can resubscribe at any time through babbel.com or the app stores to regain access.
- Lifetime subscription holders never need to worry about renewal — access is permanent with a one-time payment.
Additional Notes
Duolingo
- Super Duolingo subscriptions are auto‑renewing; you must cancel before the next billing cycle to avoid future charges.
- Cancelling does not affect your learning progress, streak, or stored data.
