Cancellation Steps
1Password
- Sign in to your account on 1Password.com.
- Select 'Billing' in the sidebar.
- Select 'Cancel subscription' and follow the onscreen instructions.
LastPass
- Log in to your LastPass account at https://lastpass.com/login/.
- Select 'Account settings' in the left navigation menu.
- In the 'Links' section, click the 'My Account' hyperlink.
- In the 'Premium Status' section, select 'Cancel'.
- Confirm your choice by selecting 'Yes' when prompted.
Cancellation Methods
1Password
- Online: Sign in to 1Password.com
- Third-party: Through Apple App Store (for in-app purchases on Mac, iPhone, or iPad)
- Third-party: Through Google Play Store (for in-app purchases on Android)
LastPass

Third-Party Billing
1Password
- If you started your subscription using an in-app purchase on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad, you will manage your subscription with Apple.
- If you started your subscription using an in-app purchase on your Android device, you will manage your subscription with Google.
LastPass
- If you subscribed through the Google Play Store on an Android device, you can cancel within the LastPass app by going to 'Settings' > 'Account' > 'Manage subscription' or directly through the Google Play Store.
- For subscriptions made through the Apple App Store on a Mac, you must cancel through the App Store.
Reactivation & Data Retention
1Password
- You can restart your subscription at any time, even if your account is frozen.
- To unfreeze an account after cancellation, reactivate your subscription.
- If your last payment failed, you can reactivate your subscription by adding a new payment method.
LastPass
- You can reactivate your LastPass Premium subscription if you change your mind.
Additional Notes
1Password
- A canceled subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period, then the account will be frozen.
- When your account is frozen, you can still sign in to 1Password.com or the apps to view and export your data, but you cannot add new items or edit existing ones.
- Canceling your subscription does not delete your account. Deleting your account permanently erases all your information and is irreversible.
- If you are part of a 1Password family or team account, you may not have permission to manage billing unless you are a family organizer, team owner, or have the 'Manage Billing' permission.
- 1Password is based in Canada, so some banks and credit card companies may charge a foreign transaction fee to non-Canadian customers.
LastPass
- Canceling your LastPass Premium subscription will downgrade your account to LastPass Free when your current subscription expires; it will not delete your account or your stored data.
- LastPass recommends exporting your passwords and stored data before canceling.
- If you cannot log in to cancel, you can contact LastPass Support for assistance, but you will need to verify your identity.
